AIA NOW went live

I still remember the time when we started the project, the Batam team was just formed. Enjoying the tranquility of our Batam Technology Center with geese walking around, we had the ambition of building a team to work on a product with many firsts in AIA. Being the first in-house cloud-native web app on AKS (when our cloud was not even there); the first in-house product on microservice architecture; the first using the JavaScript centric stack (ReactJS&NodeJS); the first adopting full CI/CD with automated testing (Jest, Postman/Newman, Selenium) targeting 80% min coverage; the first in-house piloting Scrum/XP, the team has gone through a super tough, yet rewarding journey. Tech modernization, culture clashes, “half-cooked agile”, many fun memories … there were mistakes made along the way. We have been fixing them and moved on. Thanks for those creating a safe-to-fail environment for the team ( Gunawan CHIU ; Ai Chin Chiew ) and I am proud of being part of this journey.
